How We Process This Data

All health and demographic inputs are processed entirely client-side in your local browser. These values are compiled using JavaScript within your browser's memory and are never transmitted to, recorded on, or persistently stored on our servers. When external API requests are made to retrieve plan data from the CMS Marketplace API, they are sent anonymously — your personal inputs are used only to construct the query parameters and are not included in any server-side logs or databases.

We do not create user profiles, track individual health data across sessions, or sell any personal health information to third parties. Your demographic inputs exist only in your browser's temporary memory and are cleared when you close the page or navigate away.

Our tools require geographic information to provide accurate results. We look up ZIP codes, State abbreviations, County names, and County FIPS codes to load matching federal health plans, determine Medicaid expansion eligibility, retrieve FEMA disaster statistics, and display location-specific recreation areas.

How We Process This Data

Geographic keys are passed purely as temporary query parameters to fetch public datasets from federal APIs including CMS, NHTSA, USDA, and RIDB. No location history, mapping data, or geographic tracking information is stored on our servers. We do not use geolocation APIs or GPS data from your device. All geographic inputs are provided voluntarily by you through form fields.

We use browser cookies for two primary purposes:

• Functional Cookies: To retain user preferences such as your active plan comparison selections, dark/light theme state, and cookie consent status. These are first-party cookies stored locally in your browser's localStorage.

Server access logs (containing only IP addresses and request timestamps) are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security monitoring and are then automatically purged. We employ HTTPS/TLS encryption for all connections, implement security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options), and follow industry best practices for web application security.

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
